Handmade prints offer a distinct contrast to digital prints, as they are created through physically engaging and reflective printmaking techniques. This course led by artist Francesco Poiana adopts a thoughtful and experimental approach to various sustainable printmaking methods, allowing students to develop their own unique identity, style, and technique.
Focusing on layering techniques, students will create one-of-a-kind prints inspired by natural forms, exploring light, texture, and structure. This balance of observation, planning, and spontaneous experimentation often leads to unexpected and rewarding outcomes, whether as finished works or as inspiration for further creative endeavours.
Personalised, technical guidance and constructive feedback will be provided throughout the course at Messums Studios in Chilmark.
