Messums Studios is a teaching art studio with the aim of supporting life-long creative learning, of fostering progress and development of creative language, and of forging meaningful connections.
Ceramics and Drawing are our main subjects of in-house expertise, though we always seek to offer learning opportunities exploring other topics and media.
Messums Studios West was founded in Chilmark in July 2021 as the educational branch of Messums West, and is now part of Messums Creative Ltd. registered charity.
OUTREACH & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Our Outreach & Community Engagement work provides access to art through a number of pathways:

Linking specific creative learning projects with Messums West Galleries’ exhibitions

Working with schools, educational institutions and community interest groups to deliver specific creative learning experiences.

There are many ways in which Messums Studios can support your creative journey.
Bespoke sessions - Individually tailored 1-2-1 creative sessions in pottery and ceramics, drawing and painting
Studio work experience for GCSE, A level or Higher education students.
'Access to Excellence' Bursaries available for some of our short courses
Kiln hire to individuals, creative consultancy and more

Monday - Saturday (by appointment unless booked on a Weekly Class or Short Course)
Closed Sunday
The studio is not serviced by public transport however some parking is available on site. The nearest railway station is Tisbury (local taxi services available click here for more information)
