MESSUMS WEST

This summer marks the first anniversary of Messums Creative, a profit for purpose charity (no. 1214246) led by a board of trustees and growing team. It is a shape that has grown out of our ambitions over the past ten years to provide a more circular economic model in the arts.

Our ambition is simple but far-reaching: to make access to creativity and making universally available within our communities. To provide learning for those looking to further their own creative language and to support excellence in the most gifted creative minds.

We believe making is not simply about more artists. It is about reconnecting creativity back into everyday life, nurturing imagination, encouraging learning and using creative thinking as a powerful tool for resilience, connection and problem-solving todays challenges. It is about imagination and hope.

There is much already underway, and much more to come. In the next few months, we will be opening the foundations of studios, presentation spaces and ‘thought shops’ in the heart of Lowestoft — a project that is still, for now, largely under wraps, but which will begin to reveal itself in 2027.

None of this would be possible without your involvement and support, so please support in any way that you can.
