Monthly Art Classes for Young Creatives
October 2026 - July 2027
Description
Tutor: Emma J Findley Dates: October 2026 - July 2027 Time: 10.30 - 13.00 Location: Messums Studios, Chilmark, SP3 5DU This monthly workshop series offers a sustained, studio-based experience for young people aged 13+ centred on contemporary making, material exploration and creative enquiry. , Set at Messums Studios, each session responds to exhibitions, materials and the gallery/studio spaces encouraging participants to engage with art as an evolving process rather than a fixed outcome. Workshops are led by Emma J Findley, Drawing School Lead and are designed to balance technical development with experimentation and conceptual thinking. The programme supports participants in building confidence, taking creative risks and developing an individual visual language. For older students, it also provides a strong foundation for portfolio development in preparation for GCSE, A-Level, and further study. An integral aspect of the programme is the opportunity to share work through a curated exhibition or open studio, introducing participants to how artwork is selected, presented, and experienced by an audience.
