Description

Tutor: Emma J Findley Time(s): 14.00– 16.30 Dates:  Wednesday 1 April 2026 Location: Messums Studios, Unit 1, Chilmark, SP3 5DU Course Fee: Pay what you can This class is offered to families & children (aged 3 – 11) to come and create together Celebrate the arrival of spring in a playful, hands-on art workshop inspired by the colourful work of artist Mark Hearld. In this hands-on session children will explore birds, nests and new life whilst creating imaginative paper sculptures using paper, recycled materials and natural textures. They will design their own bright spring birds and build cosy nests to hold them, learning simple paper-craft techniques whilst experimenting with shapes, patterns and colour. The workshop encourages creativity and imaginative thinking whilst introducing children to spring wildlife and birds. As they create, children will develop fine motor skills through cutting, shaping and assembling their materials. By the end of the workshop, each child will leave with their own handmade spring bird and a decorative paper nest sculpture to take home. Building on the success of our previous financially supported workshops and our February pilot we are offering once again ‘Pay what you can’ scheme for our Easter workshops. Access to our creative classes for children and youth is very important to us. This is why we have introduced a sliding scale payment in which you can pay any amount from £10 plus. The production cost of the course per child is £25 based on ten attending. When booking please select the amount you are able to pay this time. Thank you

Please check your availability prior to booking your course. Individual sessions missed during your regular term-time course are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or date. A full refund for regular classes or short courses can be requested if cancelling no less than three weeks before the start. A cancellation fee of £25 will be deducted from the full refund.
