This life drawing class with Antony Williams offers a fantastic opportunity to spend two days learning to observe and draw the human figure with internationally renowned and critically acclaimed contemporary artist Antony Williams. Through a series of short and long poses, participants will be offered guidance and support on how to approach the human form following Antony's meticulous and exacting methods of observational drawing.
Antony Williams, who is one of the artists represented by Messums, trained at Farnham College of Art and Portsmouth University. He is Vice President of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and is a member of the New English Art Club and the Pastel Society. His work is based on intense observation, particularly of human flesh, which creates a heightened sense of realism. Williams’ work has been recognised with numerous awards and is held in notable public collections including the National Portrait Gallery, Royal Collection, House of Commons, MCC Lords, Garrick Club, Corpus Christi Oxford, Trinity Hall Cambridge, Queens College Oxford, and a number of significant private collections.
Tea and coffee facilities are available in the studio.
Please bring with you your packed lunch and recommended art materials: charcoal sticks (either medium or thin) ,putty rubber,3b or 4b pencils, pencil sharpener, and 8-10 sheets of A1/A3 cartridge paper or equivalent or large sketch book.
