Big Improvement Week | Big Throw & Big Build

An exciting opportunity to spend the whole week learning, improving, and furthering existing clay making skills. This course led by Mirka Golden-Hann is aimed at the intermediate or experienced maker. Whilst it will concentrate on thrown work, hand builders who like to consider using the wheel in their work are also welcome. Our doors are always open to the beginner who likes to set themselves a challenge.
 
Whether it is to have a go at production throwing or dedicate the week to building one or two large structure(s), this course will allow you the time to explore methods and processes beyond those afforded by the duration of ordinary weekly sessions.  Throughout the week there will be the opportunity to observe several demonstrations, such as composite vase throwing, oval pot making, domestic ware production demo, as well as the combination of hand building and throwing in the construction of a garden wall water feature.
 
Please bring: packed lunch, note book, sensible clothes and closed toe shoes, apron and old towel
