MESSUMS CREATIVE

M E S S U M S S T U D I O S
CLAY SCHOOL | DRAWING SCHOOL
Messums Studios opened in Chilmark, Wiltshire in July 2021 as a teaching art studio. It's aim was to support life-long creative learning with the emphasis on the individual’s development of creative language through the tuition of making skills and material knowledge. At present Messums ORG funds Messums Studios outreach programme and is looking to secure a more sustainable future for the delivery and growth of the programme.
Originally opened as a clay school, Messums Studios has been growing in strength and it's drawing courses have become increasingly popular with classes supported by visiting tutors and artists. To that end, we aim to open a new drawing school in 2025/2026 in the Tisbury area, further committing to arts education in the local community.
At present Messums Studios funds its outreach programme from available profit within Messums.Org and is looking to secure a more sustainable future for the delivery and growth of the programme.

We want to raise £20,000 to seed fund a two-year part-time role in organisation and outreach programming.

In addition, we are looking for individual donations of £1,500 per annum secured over 2-5 years to support the delivery of other programme.

Drawing School
At Messums Creative, we're building something for everyone
Whether you’ve never picked up a pencil before or you’re already into drawing, painting or making, our new programme of courses is designed to be welcoming, relaxed and enjoyable. You don’t need any experience – just a bit of curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
We’re creating a friendly space where local people of all ages and backgrounds can come together, try something new, and enjoy making art in their own way. Workshops will be led by visiting artists from the area and beyond, with plenty of support and guidance. It’s not about being ‘good at art’ – it’s about enjoying the process, meeting new people, and discovering what you can do when given the chance.
We can’t wait to welcome you – whether it’s for a workshop, a chat, or just a look around. Everyone’s welcome.
