Thiébaut Chagué is an internationally renowned artist, recognised for his unique wood-fired stoneware sculptural pieces that explore intersections between the natural and the man-made. He was a student of Master studio potters Richard Batterham and Michael Cardew. 

In Spring 2023, French ceramicist Thiébaut Chagué transformed the Tithe Barn at Messums West into a live studio space, offering a public insight into each stage of his making process. Visitors to the barn, including local primary school groups, were able to experience the project first-hand as it unfolded and directly engage with the artist and materials through free-to-attend public making sessions. The dramatic firing spectacle took place on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 March 2023 in the sculpture park outside the Tithe Barn at Messums West. 

Examples of Chagué's work can be found in public collections across Europe. His work features in the V&A museum, was exhibited in the Louvre and is represented by Messums.
