In collaboration with The Seagull Theatre, Lowestoft, Messums Creative delivered six creative workshops in the community ahead of the opening of Messums East at the Old Post Office in Autumn 2026. LET'S SIT DOWN TOGETHER | HAND-BUILDING WORKSHOP WITH MIRKA GOLDEN-HANN In April 2025 a ‘Ceramics Pew Group’-inspired clay day, titled “Let’s Sit Down Together”, was delivered by Mirka Golden-Hann with the generous help of East Coast College, where the final clay pieces were fired.

Thanks to support from Wiltshire Council, in Autumn 2025, Messums Studios delivered a series of free art classes for young people. Messums Studios was established to support life-long creative learning with an emphasis on the tuition of skills, material knowledge, and critical thinking. Artist Kaori Kato was supported on a residency in the UK by Messums Creative in December 2025. During her five-day residency in Lowestoft, she delivered a series of workshops in the community.

Supported by a grant from Southwest Wiltshire Area Board, Messums Studios was enabled to deliver a series of free workshops which offered the opportunity to young people to experience hands-on creative learning delivered by experts in the field of clay, ceramic and natural materials art.
