What is 4X20
Choreography
Platform?

The platform commissions two emerging choreographers to present one pre-existing and one newly developed choreographic work of up to 20 minutes each, with a maximum of 4 dancers.

In addition to a financial commission and networking opportunities, the artists receive professional production and marketing support and free rehearsal space provided by our affiliated partners.

Supported 3 female-identifying choreographers
Established the platform, premiering at Festival of Dance 2022
Successful premiere with over160 audience
3 community workshops welcoming over 60 participants
Open dress rehearsals for youth and those unable to afford the show

2023

Supported 2 choreographers
Platform touring to 1 additional venue after premiere
Estimated audience - 500+
4 total community workshops, engaging over 80 participants
4 partnerships built with dance organisations across the UK
Financially supported by Jerwood Foundation and engaged long term benefactors

Platform touring to 3 additional venues after premiere
Estimated audience 1000+
10 total community workshops, engaging over 200 participants
Long term partnerships confirmed with at least 2 dance organisations
Long term supporters confirmed, including foundations
Supportive and engaged communities formed in each venue area making the event their own
